A Catholic priest who hosted an out-of-control orgy where a male prostitute overdosed on erectile dysfunction pills and was mutilated was sentenced to 18 months in prison in Poland on Tuesday.

The Polish clergyman, who was assigned to the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the Angels, landed the jail time after being convicted of sexual offenses, supplying drugs and failing to provide assistance to a person in danger of loss of life or serious bodily harm.

He was only officially identified as “Tomasz Z” because of Polish privacy laws, but the Daily Mail said he was Father Tomasz Zmarzły.

Zmarzły organized the sex party-gone-awry at his parish-owned apartment in Dąbrowa Górnicza near the Czech Republic-Poland border in August 2023, according to the Polish outlet Wyborcza and Reuters.

A male prostitute collapsed at the bash after taking too many erectile-dysfunction pills, and the priest then threw one of the hooker’s buddies out of his home when he wanted to call police, the local newspaper Fakt said.

The attendee called emergency services anyway while his unconscious friend remained remained inside.

When paramedics arrived, the priest refused to allow them inside.

The cops were called, and after gaining entrance to the home, authorities found the unconscious prostitute lying on a bed with his lower body severely mutilated, Fakt reported.

He was taken to a hospital, where he later signed himself out.

After the incident gained traction in the media, Zmarzły told Wyborcza that the case was only popular because it involved a member of the clergy.

“If something similar had happened to a little-known person, with a different profession, not media or clergy, there would be no issue at all,” he told the outlet in a statement.

He was stripped of all church duties, including being an assistant to a youth program and head of the Catholic newspaper Niedziela Sosnowiecka, in late September, Fakt reported.

Zmarzły was arrested in January and charged with four offenses.

The Diocese of Sosnowiec has been engulfed in scandal since the news broke in September, causing Zmarzły to be discharged from the clergy and Bishop Grzegorz Kaszak to step down.

Pope Francis accepted Kaszak’s resignation. Archbishop Adrian Galbas of Katowice, a city nearby, was appointed as administrator of the Sosnowiec Diocese, according to TVN 24.

In addition to his jail time, Zmarzły was ordered to pay the victim $3,820 and set up and donate to a fund to help victims of crime.
