The Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association (ECNBA) has released Notice No. 4, officially announcing the commencement of nominations for the upcoming 2024 NBA Elections. This notice follows the prior releases of ECNBA Notice No. 2 (Notice of Elections) on 1st March 2024 and Notice No. 3 (Guidelines for the 2024 Elections) on 11th March 2024.
In accordance with Part VII (2) (b) of the Constitution of the Nigerian Bar Association 2015 (as amended in 2021), candidates’ nominations must be received at least 90 days before the election date, which is scheduled for 20th July 2024. Prospective candidates can obtain nomination forms from the ECNBA Secretariat or download them from www.ecnba.org and must submit completed forms by the deadline on Friday, 5th April 2024.
The ECNBA Secretariat will be open from 09:00 to 17:00 hours for the distribution and receipt of nomination forms from NBA members. Completed forms should be physically submitted in a sealed envelope marked “ECNBA 2024” to the ECNBA Secretariat at No. 9 Oro Ago Crescent, Garki Abuja, or sent via a reputable courier company.
Unsealed envelopes will be rejected, and once submitted, the forms cannot be retrieved. Candidates may choose to notify the ECNBA Secretary of their submission by email at info@ecnba.org, confirming the handover of hard copies to the provided address. The notice, dated 11th March 2024, is signed by the ECNBA Chairman, Oluseun Abimbola SAN, and the Secretary, Huwaila Ibrahim.
