Oladokun Ayomide, a final-year student at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, has been apprehended by the Ogun State Police Command on suspicion of poisoning his girlfriend, Ugbokwe Mmasichukwu, and another individual, Odumosu Semilore.

Prior to visiting the suspect’s residence, Mmasichukwu had invited her schoolmate, Semilore, to accompany her, not anticipating the turn of events. The victims lost consciousness immediately after consuming the cake and were quickly rushed to the hospital for medical attention.
While the motive behind the suspect’s actions remains unclear, preliminary investigations suggest that Ayomide had ill intentions towards the victims. The Chief Security Officer of the Federal College of Education, Osiele Abeokuta, Olusola Ajibola, spearheaded the arrest. It was revealed that Mmasichukwu and Semilore were students of the institution, whereas Ayomide was a final-year student at FUNAAB.
The Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, confirmed that the victims were receiving treatment and disclosed that further inquiries were ongoing to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident.
“The victims consumed brownie cake and immediately lost consciousness. They were promptly taken to the Osiele Medical Centre for treatment. A foil paper pack used for the brownie cake was found at the crime scene, and the suspect was handed over to the police division by the school’s Chief Security Officer,” Odutola stated on Tuesday
