The Enugu State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal on Tuesday dismissed the case filed by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Uchenna Nnaji
Nnaji had filed a petition seeking to be declared governor of the state on the grounds that the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Peter Mbah, Labour Party’s Chijioke Edeoga and All Progressives Grand Alliance candidate Frank Nweke Jr was not qualified to contest the March 18 election.
In the ruling, the Chairman of the Tribunal Justice Kudirat Akano held that the pre-hearing notice filed by the petitioner was premature and ran foul of the 2022 Electoral Act and therefore dismissed the case.
