The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 42-year-old man, Auwul Shaibu, for allegedly raping his nine-year-old daughter in the Kabak Mubi South Local Government Area of the state.
the incident occurred on March 12.It was also gathered that Shaibu was apprehended following a report filed by his wife, Asmau Isa, who raised the alarm about the incident.When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Yahaya Suleiman, confirmed the incident to our correspondent
Suleiman said, “I am aware of the incident. He is currently in custody for raping his daughter, and she is a minor. The complaints were made by the mother of the daughter, who happens to be the wife of the man.
“On March 12, 2024, the Adamawa State Police Command arrested a 42-year-old man for raping his nine-year-old biological daughter. The incidents occurred in the Kabak Mubi South Local Government Area on March 11, 2024.”The PPRO added that during the course of the inquiry, the suspect confessed to the crime and stated that narcotics and excessive alcohol were the causes of it.
Suleiman noted that the alleged rapist will be prosecuted upon completion of the investigation.“During the course of the investigation, the suspect confessed to committing the offence but blamed it on taking too much alcohol and drugs.“The Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command, CP Dankombo Morris, directs a diligent investigation and prosecution of the suspect upon completion of the investigation,” the police spokesperson said.
