The Nigerian Cardiac Society has said that over 20.5 million people die of heart disease annually with more than 75 per cent occurring in low- and middle-income countries.
The president of the Society disclosed this in a press release, as part of their activities to mark the 2024 World Heart Day themed: “#UseHeartforAction#” on Sunday.
He explained that the day which is set aside by the World Heart Federation, in collaboration with the World Health Organisation, is celebrated to combat the scourge of heart disease and promote heart health,
