A 27-year-old fashion designer, Dauda Abdulfatai, from Kogi state, has ironed clothes for 100 hours so far in a bid to break the Guinness World Record (GWR) for the longest ironing marathon. Abdulfatai began his 200-hour ironing marathon on Wednesday, January, 2024, in Lokoja, the Kogi state capital.
So far, he has reached the existing record of 100 hours held by Gareth Sander of the United Kingdom, which was achieved in 2015
According to GWR, it took Gareth, the current record holder over two weeks to fully recover from the attempt.
Abdulfatai announced his 100-hour feat via X (formerly Twitter) as he shared a video of himself ironing as friends and well-wishers were cheering him on.
“Thrills to announce to my fellow Nigerians as I completes a 100-hour Ironing Marathon, matching the current award holder, Gareth Sanders from UK.
