Rtd. Justice Pius Olayiwola Aderemi: A Model Jurist Bows Out – Okafor, SAN
It is with deep sense of loss that I join the legal community in mourning the demise of renowned Jurist; Justice Pius Olayiwola Aderemi (Rtd.), a former Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, who passed on to eternal glory on Monday at a hospital in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, after a brief illness.
The late Jurist who once served our noble association, the Nigerian Bar Association as the Chairman of Ibadan branch was a humble, hardworking and dedicated person who was passionate about his work, both as a lawyer and later a Jurist.
A former member of National Judicial Council, the Body of Benchers of Nigeria, Justice Aderemi was a role model and highly disciplined Jurist, whose death is not only a great loss to members of his family, but also the NBA, especially Ibadan branch, the judiciary and his community.
While praying for the repose of the soul of the departed Jurist, I pray the Almighty to grant his family members and the NBA, Ibadan branch the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss his departure has caused.
