Anne Agi hails NBA Ikeja on the hosting of the 16th edition of the Gani Fawehinmi Annual Lecture

I congratulate the NBA Ikeja Branch on the occasion of her 16th Gani Fawehinmi lecture with the theme “Federalism And Whether our Judiciary is under Serious Threat”.

The theme of this year’s lecture could not have come at a better time than now when several unsavoury affairs have befallen our judiciary, threatening it’s very foundation.

Late Chief Gani Fawehinmi would never have stood for the desecration of the judiciary as he lived his entire life promoting the ideals of justice in all its ramifications. This lecture therefore serves as a wonderful opportunity to have him speak to us and remind us of the need to continue to fight for the preservation of the soul of the judiciary.

With the array of speakers your esteemed Branch has gathered, I have no doubt that it will indeed be ‘an intellectual feast of our time’.
