Profile of Obianuju Mary Chukwuma-Okafor
Obianuju Mary Chukwuma-Okafor (Mrs) started her early education in Lagos State. She proceeded to study law and graduated from the University of Nigeria, Enugu campus. She attended the Nigerian law School and was called to the Nigerian Bar in year 2000. She has in view postgraduate studies in law (LL.M) University of Lagos.
She has since been in private legal practice with reputable law firms. She founded the law firm of M.O. Chukwuma-Okafor & Associates (Ivory Chambers) in 2006.
An active and dedicated member of the Badagry Branch of the NBA working assiduously with other committed members of the branch to getting the approval of the then J.B. DAODU SAN led NBA to inaugurate the branch in 2012.
Chukwuma-Okafor served the NBA Badagry Branch in various capacities which includes among others; Secretary Law Week Planning Committee 2011, Pioneer Branch treasurer 2012 to 2014, Branch Secretary 2014 to 2016, National Executive Committee representative 2014 to 2016, Co-opted National Executive committee representative 2016 till date.
She has been privileged to also serve the association at the National level as member of the NBA Conference Planning Committee 2015 and 2016, member NBA INEC Observer Team in the Nigerian general election 2015.
She is a member of the National Association of Catholic lawyers, (serving as member Probono sub-committee), member African Women Lawyer’s Association, member of the Eastern Bar Forum (EBF) and a Member of Otu Okaiwu, Lagos.
She is a Certified Marriage Instructor, obtaining certificate from the Family and Human Life Unit (FHLU) Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos. She is also a Marriage Instructor of the Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos, Archangels Parish, Satellite Town, Lagos. I am the secretary General of Family and Human Life Committee of Lagos Catholic Archdiocese, Archangels Parish, Satellite Town, Lagos
She has successfully among others, defended Auto Spare Parts and Machinery Dealers Association, (ASPMDA) Lagos, obtaining final judgments in their favour in several cases.
She is a solicitor to the Auto Spare Parts & Allied Products Dealers Association, Naze, Nekede Owerri, Imo State.
She is the Secretary General of Family and Human Life Committee of Lagos Catholic Archdiocese, Archangels Parish, Satellite Town, Lagos.
Uju Mary Chukwuma-Okafor is a member of the Royal Cabinet of HRH Igwe Prof. Onuora Nwuneli (Eze Malume) of Igbakwu Town in Ayamelum Local Government Area of Anambra State, Nigeria.
She is Secretary General of Uda dinmma Welfare Association Lagos branch, 2013 – till date
