NBA SLP 2018 Conference Gets Overwhelming Support


The Chairman of the NBA Section on Legal Practice, Mrs. Miannaya Aja Essien, SAN said, “the theme for this year’s conference is apt and expedient now more than ever, considering recent ethical issues and changes in substantive law that keep occurring.

In an interview, Essien, SAN said that the support for the Section and the upcoming Annual conference has been overwhelming. The Rivers State Government is the Conference’s Flagship Partner.

The conference will have as Chairman and Special Guest, the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Walter Onnoghen. Amongst others in attendance will also be the President of the NBA, Abubakar Mahmoud (SAN), the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, the Presiding Justice of the Court of Appeal, Port Harcourt Judicial Division, other Justices of the Court of Appeal, the Chief Judge of Rivers State, the Chief Judge of Anambra State, and other judges from other courts and jurisdictions.

“What can lawyers do about their practice and drive their increase in income? How can we equip ourselves to be more relevant in these times of economic hardship of our dear nation?” She asked, saying this year’s conference intends to address those issues and proffer solutions to many unanswered questions on legal practice in Nigeria.”

To make things easier, pre-registration will be on Wednesday between 10.00 a.m. and 4. 00p.m. We urge delegates to take advantage of this so they can walk in with ease on the 12th of April, 2018.
