NBA Port Harcourt Branch Elections 2018: Anticipation Heightens As Candidates Make Final Moves

As the countdown finally ends for the 2018 elections of the Port Harcourt branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), candidates for various positions are fine-tuning their strategies for what promises to be a highly contentious polls – going by the events and controversies of the past few months.

The elections, slated for Friday, June 1st, 2018, have been preceded for months by wrangling over the eligibility of certain candidates as well as certain members of the committee tasked with organizing the polls – and even allegations in certain quarters of a ‘hidden agenda’ designed to prolong the tenure of the incumbent executive.

The hope of the generality of the members of the Port Harcourt Bar, and watchers of its affairs across the country, is that the prospect of a new executive will represent a continuation of the harmony and solidarity that characterized the tenure of the out going administration led by Omubo Frank Briggs.
