NBA Lagos Branch Pays Courtesy Visit to VP Osinbajo in Abuja
The Executive Committee of the NBA Lagos Branch led by its chairman Mr. Yemi Akangbe, paid a courtesy visit to the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, GCON at the Presidential Villa on Monday, the 4th day of November, 2019.
The Executive committee on behalf of the entire Branch voiced solidarity with the manner in which the Vice President, being the highest ranking member of the Branch, has been discharging his Constitutional duties in office.
During his remarks, Mr. Yemi Akangbe thanked the VP for making out time to receive them and urged His Excellency to keep the flag of the branch flying.
He however raised concerns on the state of the legal profession and discussed areas in which the VP’s office can engage the Branch. The Chairman also mentioned the construction of the new Federal High Court building in ikoyi and how beneficial the completion of that building will be to the administration and dispensation of justice.
In response, the Vice President thanked the Executive Committee for considering it worthy to identify with him. The Vice President advised the committee on the way forward as regards the state of the legal profession and promised to engage the Premier Branch on the initiatives on law reforms being undertaken by his office.
