Lawyer Fatally Injured by Police Stray Bullet in Akwa Ibom – Usen James
A lawyer, Raymond Umoiyak, and one other person, have been fatally injured by police stray bullet at Unit 3, Ward 5, Ekpene Ukim, Uruan Local Government of Akwa Ibom State.
Information from our reporter has it that while voting was ongoing in the Unit, police men in company of APC thugs stormed the Unit, shot sporadically and made away with ballots papers.
Mr. Umoiyak and one other, who had finished voting but waited for the counting of the vote, were fatally injured by bullets that were shot by the police and APC thugs. Mr. Umoiyak was shot in his leg and was been rushed to hospital for treatment.
Raymond Umoiyak was later admitted at University of Uyo Teaching Hospital after being further rejected at General Hospital, Anua.
It is criminal for General Hospitals built and maintained with taxpayers’ money to reject any taxpayer in distress. Our courts have frowned at this inhumane practice and we must make a damning statement against the authorities supervising this atrocity.
