Lanre Olaoluwa Defies Order of Injunction
Mr. Lanre Olaoluwa a Receiver appointed by the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria has defied the order of Injunction granted by the Hon. Justice Kudirat Jose of the High Court of Lagos State.
Mr. Shittu had approached the Court seeking for an order restraining Mr. Lanre Olaoluwa from preventing him from gaining access to his home in Victory Park Estate, Lekki, Lagos, which order was granted on 24th October, 2019 after the court heard arguments and dismissed the Preliminary Objection filed by AMCON and Mr. Lanre Olaoluwa.
Despite the Order of Court, Mr. Lanre Olaoluwa and his agents swooped in with a mass of over 40 policemen and thugs to seal up the home of Mr. Shittu and also caused extensive damages and removal of the roof on the building in the early hours of Monday 11th October, 2019.
When confronted by concerned residents of the Victory Park Estate about the extensive damages to the property, agents of Mr. Lanre Olaoluwa stated that they have appealed against the order of Injunction and they had a right to prevent Mr. Shittu and his family from gaining access and living in their home.
Mr. Shittu expressed grave concern about the impunity and disregard for the order of the Court and noted that the damage to his property was a further demonstration of the vindictiveness of Mr. Lanre Olaoluwa against him and other innocent purchasers of properties who are not indebted to AMCON. He stated further that it is unbelievable that Mr. Lanre Olaoluwa would blazingly defy an order of Court and further destroy his property worth millions of Naira over a debt he is not liable for.
The current development comes on the heels of a letter of appeal by Lekki Residents and Stakeholders Association to the President to restrain AMCON from harassing its members.
