IRENE INIOBONG PEPPLE REFLECTS ON A FULFILLING TENURE, OFFERS THANKS FOR SUPPORT OF COLLEAGUES
Greetings dear colleagues.
The 28th day of August 2020 brought to an end the 2 year journey I began in August 2018 as your Asst Financial Secretary. I thank you all for the privilege to serve you. It was indeed an honour.
During my campaigns I stressed on the need for the NBA to have and operate an online platform for payment of all fees and levies by members of the Association and I am excited and fulfilled that that promise was brought to fruition within my 2 year tenure. I did not fail you.
As I bow out, I appreciate my State, Rivers State and my Branch, NBA Port Harcourt Branch for believing in me and presenting me forward to fly their very excellent brand. I am immensely grateful. I also want to thank once more all other branches of the NBA who supported my course.
Elections have come and gone and the Bar has elected new executives to represent her and continue to work for the Bar. I congratulate the newly sworn in executives led by Olumide Anthony Akpata. I thank them for putting their best foot forward on the very 1st day by pledging to give out 2 packs of stamps for free to members who pay their practice fees on or before 31st March each year. As a past member of the finance team I am persuaded that this is doable and will bring a positive boost to the welfare of members. It will also bring a sense of belonging to members and promote goodwill towards the Association. Welldone to the new executives. You are the face of a rebranded Association.
It was a delight to represent you all members of the NBA. Thank you once again for the rare opportunity to serve you.
