Institute of Directors of Nigeria Visits Saraki in the State House
The Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki on Wednesday 7th of February received a delegation of Council / Directors from the Institute of Directors of Nigeria (IOD Nigeria), at the State House, Abuja.
Dr. Saraki and other Senators were on ground to welcome the delegation.
The Institute of Directors, Nigeria (IOD Nigeria) is a Professional Institute which promotes directors, develops corporate governance, represents members to government, enhances the economy for business development and provides services to membership.
The visit of the IOD to the State House is to promote good corporate governance in Nigeria by empowering those who are charged with governance duties to effectively and legally discharge those duties.
IoD Nigeria aims to safeguard the integrity and status of directorship as a profession by serving as the professional body for directors and through the provision of a professional designation which serves to assess and credit mastery.
Dr. Saraki tasked the IOD to continue to take an effective interest in legislation as this relates to governance and directors’ duties in order to ensure as far as possible that basic commercial freedoms and rights are preserved and that a climate conducive to sound economic growth is maintained.
The Institute of Directors also paid a courtesy visit to the Head of Service of the Federation Office in Abuja on Thursday the 8th of Feb. 2018.
