A branch bank manager of one of the old generation banks, Wema Bank was on Wednesday evening kidnapped along Efon-Alaaye road on the boarders of Ekiti and Osun States.
The manager, Mr Joseph Ogungbayi was returning from Ibadan around 5.30pm when he was abducted by unknown gunmen. He is the branch manager in charge of Okesha, Ado-Ekiti branch of the bank.
The kidnappers were alleged to have blocked the highway with a trailer, forcing the vehicle of Ogungbayi to a halt.
The Regional Manager of the bank in charge of Ekiti and Ondo states, Mr Sesan Okere confirmed the incident to Gavel International. He said the kidnappers have contacted the bank and demanded N50 million ransom.
