First Katsina Female SAN, Safiya Badamasi Umar to be Sworn In As A High Court Judge
Katsina State Judiciary will tomorrow, 7th May swear in Mrs. Safiya Badamasi Umar as a high Court Judge.
This was made known in a letter of Appointment signed by the Chief Judge and Chairman Judicial Service Commission, Hon. Justice M. Abubakar.

“Following the recommendation of the National Judicial Court to His Excellency, Executive Governor of Katsina State, the Governor has in exercise of the powers conferred on him under the constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 las amended) appointed you a Judge of Katsina State High Court of Justice as per the attached letter of appointment.
“It is in view of the above that you are required to submit letter of acceptance to the Chairman, Katsina State Judicial Service Commission.
“Your swearing-in is scheduled to be conducted on Thursday 7 May, 2020 by 02.00prn at the Council Chambers of Muhammadu Buhari (Government) House. Due to the existing Executive on curtailing the spread of the COV113-19 Pandemic, limiting social gathering and contacts you are allowed to come with only 1 Family Member to witness the occasion. You are expected to assemble at the Chief Judge’s Chambers by 1.00pm to proceed to the occasion please.”
Last year, Safiya Badamasi Umar became the first female Senior Advocate of Nigeria from Katsina State and also the first female SAN from the North.
