Fani-Kayode Attacks Buhari for Addressing Dapchi Students in Hausa
Former Minister of Culture, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has castigated President Muhammadu Buhari for addressing Dapchi students in Hausa when he visited the school last week.

Buhari had visited Yobe state as part of scheduled visits to states that had recently experienced serious security challenges.
As part of the Yobe visit, the president visited the Government Girls Technical College, Dapchi, Bursari LGA, Yobe State, where 110 girls were kidnapped by Boko Haram on February 19.
During the visit, Buhari addressed students, parents and staff of the school in Hausa, a move Fani-Kayode described as divisive, since other non-Hausa speaking parts of the country watched the broadcast of the visit.
Fani-Kayode said the president blacked out the non-Hausa speaking, Southern part of the country and the international community by giving his address in Hausa.
He said, “Pres. Buhari went to Dapchi the other day and spoke Hausa to students who are supposed to study the English language and take English as a compulsory subject in WAEC. There is something not right about the Pres. addressing those students in Hausa…”
“…Buhari’s Dapchi visit was televised nationally and internationally. He blacked out the southern half of Nigeria and the int. community. This brazen discrimination that has permeated every facet of his government is SHOCKING but not surprising!”
