Failure to Re-elect Ekweremadu will be Suicidal, says Ohanaeze Chieftain
Given his legislative experience, network and contributions to the development of Enugu West Senatorial Zone, a chieftain of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Everest Ozonweke has said the people of Enugu West cannot afford not to re-elect Deputy Senate President, Professor Ike Ekweremadu for a fifth term.

In a chat with newsmen in Lagos, Ozonweke, who is the general secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Lagos and the convener of Ike Oha Support Team, Lagos, said “it will be a political suicide to replace Ekweremadu with a greenhorn in the upper chamber of the national assembly.”
Ekweremadu is re-contesting on the banner of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
One of those challenging Ekweremadu for the seat is an aide to President Muhammadu Buhari, Juliet Ibekaku Nwagwu, who beat the Director General of Voice of Nigeria, VON, Osita Okechukwu, for the All progressives Congress, APC, ticket.
After the Enugu State day celebration at the National Stadium, Lagos Chief Ozonweke said the achievements of Ike Ekweremadu in Enugu west senatorial zone and the whole State were great legacies to behold.
“Ike Oha has touched the lives of our people in a special way that has strengthened the social trust and confidence reposed in him by the people of Enugu west senatorial zone.”
“We the zonal stakeholders in Lagos have resolved to work as the project gate keepers and good ambassadors for our people at home.”
“If our quest for a restructured Nigeria must come to pass there are mechanisms we must put in place to propel such aspirations to conclusion in line with the expectations of Nigerians,” he said.
