
FAAN Okays Owerri Airport Fire Incident Report
The Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has confirmed that an inferno on Monday burnt some parts of the terminal building of the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport, Owerri in Imo.

The General Manager, Corporate Affairs, FAAN, Henrietta Yakubu, made this known in a statement obtained by our reporter.
Yakubu said the inferno started around 2:00 pm but was curtailed swiftly by officers of the Aerodrome Rescue in a joint effort with the Fire Fighting Services Department of FAAN.
“There was no casualty and normal operations has since resumed at the airport.
“The authority has commenced preliminary investigations into the cause of the incident,” she said.
Recall that this news platform had earlier reported the break out of the inferno that was said to have started at the departure wing of the airport.
