We Don’t Owe AMCON, Says BiCourtney
BiCourtney Limited has refuted claims that it is indebted to Assets Management Company of Nigeria (AMCON).

According to a letter signed and made available to newsmen by a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Olawale Akoni, from Babalakin and Companies, the firm disclosed that on April, 2012, the Federal High Court in FHC/ABJ/CS/50/2009- Bicourtney Limited vs Attorney General of the Federation ordered that whatever debt was outstanding to any federal agency by Bicourtney and companies related to it should be deducted from the sum of over N132 billion, which the federal Government owed Bicourtney.
The letter also stated that Bicourtney and companies associated with it had a judgment credit of N132 billion, N20 billion, N9billion, N83billion, “Bicourtney had a net judgment credit of N83 billion.”
Akoni in the letter said: “AMCON however continued to publish the names of Bicourtney companies associated with it in newspapers. Consistent with its misguided behaviour, the organisation filed in an action against one of the said companies (Resort International Limited) claiming amongst other things the sum of N20b (twenty billion naira).”
“Notwithstanding this clear position of law which is that Bicourtney and companies associated with it do not owe AMCON any money whatsoever, AMCON continues to publish or threaten to the name of Bicourtney and other companies related to it in the newspapers and electronic media.”
