Be Determined to Succeed, Babalakin Charges UNILAG Graduates

Pro-Chancellor and Chairman Governing Council, University of Lagos, UNILAG, Dr. Wale Babalakin (SAN) has charged graduating students of the institution to be determined to succeed in life, advising them not to be intimidated by any odd they might encounter while climbing the ladder of success.

He gave the admonition at the first day of the 49th convocation ceremony of University of Lagos, held for the 2016/2017 session, yesterday. Reminding the graduates that life was never a bed of roses, Babalakin urged them not to be deterred by the usual distraction of life, but should remain focused.

On his part, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, who described his administration as “A New Dawn of Consolidation, Redirection, and Rededication”, promised to build on the solid foundation laid by his predecessors, to ensure a perfect finish of every ongoing project, so that the university would maximize the gains of continuity.

He said: “This institution will definitely witness a new direction driven by passion for excellence. It will grow from glory to glory”

He also reiterated his commitment to reposition research and scholarship as part of his administration’s agenda, resolving also, to keep developing the institution’s students by honing their skills through entrepreneurship training that would be introduced into the curriculum.
