Breaking: Auchi: NBA Presents Constitution to Caretaker Committee
Few days ago, the President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Paul Usoro, SAN constituted Appeals Panels to handle appeals arising from decisions of various Election Committees set up by Branches of the NBA.
The appeal under reference is pending before the Panel (Western Zone). In the circumstances, members were directed to suspend the scheduled election for Auchi Branch pending the determination of the appeal by Ibrahim Mohammed, Esq.

Dear Colleagues,
CONSTITUTION OF CARETAKER COMMITTEE FOR AUCHI BRANCH
Following the expiration of the tenure of the Executive Committee of Auchi Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and due to the stalemate in holding election arising from appeals pending before the 2020 Branch Elections Appeals Panel, the President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Paul Usoro, SAN has constituted a Caretaker Committee to handle the affairs of the Branch in line with Article 11 of the Uniform Bye-Laws for Branches for a period of three (3) months.
The Caretaker Committee may co-opt such members as it deems necessary. The Committee is composed of the following:
A. A. Atemoagbon
M. A. Garuba
D. A. Alegbe
Members of the Branch are advised to cooperate with the Caretaker committee as it pilots in the interim, the affairs of the Branch.

The Election Committee conducted the election on the 9th of June 2020 between 9 am and 12pm successfully.
Among those present were Ibrahim Mohammed, Esq the petitioner, Uyiosa I Dania, Esq and Dr. Vincent Mahmud.
After the election K. O. Ojemeri was declared winner as Chairman elected.
He has since been sworn in by Hon. Justice P. I. Imoedemeh of Criminal Court Edo State Judiciary.
Ibrahim Mohammed is already in court in Suit No HAU/46/2020 and his efforts to stop the election crashed when Justice S. A. Omonua refused his application for interim injunction.
The issues arising from Auchi election is subjudice courtesy of Ibrahim Mohammed, who many believe he cannot get in through the back door what the court did not give him.
