Arthur Obi Okafor, SAN, Congratulates NBA President, National Officers and NEC Delegates
I welcome our learned friends and dear colleagues from across Nigeria to the ancient commercial city of Kano in Kano State, as we attend the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of our noble association, the Nigerian Bar Association, which commences on the 9th through to the 11th of May, 2018 at Coronation Hall of the Government House, Kano, by 9am.
As we gather to deliberate on issues affecting our noble association and country, Nigeria, I urge all delegates to put the interest of the NBA and our country ahead of personal gains. May we in the course of our deliberations, make decisions that will further strengthen our unity as an association and country, while protecting the interests of the ordinary Nigerians who look up to us as their voice.
I invite you to enjoy the hospitality of the people of Kano; one of the earliest commercial cities in Sub Saharan Africa and also take out time to visit tourist attractions like the Kurmi Market established in the 15th century, Kano’s centuries-old city wall and Gidan Rumfa (Emir’s Palace), the oldest continuous site of authority in Nigeria.
