It is my pleasure to deliver this goodwill message at the Annual National Summit of the Young Lawyers Forum (YLF) of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).
I consider it necessary to make a brief remark on this occasion having been a young lawyer myself not too long ago and still very much aware of the challenges young lawyers face in legal practice. Young lawyers contribute immensely to the growth of many prestigious law firms with their tireless and grinding work and not much can be effectively accomplished without their help.
It is therefore my hope that in the coming months, the issues of the welfare of young lawyers, their remuneration, and other options that would elevate the pedigree of the Young Lawyer both in his practice and in “his pocket” will be front burner issues with a view to resolving them to a large extent.
In keeping with the theme of this year’s summit, “Transforming Legal Practice for young Lawyers: The option of Information and Communication Technology”, I also urge you to explore the benefits of ICT in the practice of Law and endeavour to practically utilize the knowledge gathered at the Summit to elevate your legal practice.
I wish you a fruitful annual National Summit.
