Dear self,
Compliments. Another beautiful year of life has come. Happy birthday!
It’s been a great year and so much has happened to you. You’ve taken some leaps forward in your professional career, and re-started your blog which brings you tons of happiness. Congratulations!
The past few years have been whirlwind years… you’ve learned what love really means, the lengths to which friendship can be tested (and lost), and you’ve moved to a new jurisdiction with nothing but yourself. Unsure of what the future meant, you went with trepidation, but then you arrived and you slayed! You came, ready to learn, you saw, you conquered and as God lives, you will continue to conquer new ground.
I know you’re feeling nostalgic, a little blue, a little thumbs down on all that isn’t straight, but I need you to know that you have grown and I am so proud of you.
I am proud of who you are, the strides you have made and how far you have come.
I am proud of the achievements and successes you accomplished which have brought you this far and of the failures that have taught you so many lessons.
Remember, another beautiful year of my life has come. Be thankful for life and this experience, as the miracle of life is a gift from God.
Be thankful for the past years, forget their travails and wonder about the new joys of the future. Today you have one more birthday and this is the moment of blessing. Savour it.
This is a new year of life, be ready for bright positive moods, high achievements, spiritual harmony, prosperity and good health; welcome new ideas, self-development and strive only for the best!
Today, I and the family, friends and colleagues celebrate YOU; your dreams, your work, your steadfastness, your resoluteness, your strength and your resilience in the face of life’s storms.
We wish you peace, smiles, and an excellent mood. Let all the bad things go aside, overcome the hardships of life with ease, let every day of this new year of life be filled with joy and happiness. Let there be good, hope, light and infinite love.
This year, put all the worries aside, embody your dreams, be thankful for all the congratulations, good wishes, prayers and encomiums and pray that God bless you with strong health and faithful friends in this new year of life.
The past year was pretty fabulous, you met some truly great people, but next year is going to be even better, but you need to listen up for some advice:
*Don’t be so impatient*. Every good thing in life takes time. Though sometimes life feels like nothing is working to your advantage, I want you to know that you are exactly where you need to be.
*Don’t talk over others.*
*Don’t drive so fast (yes, you will lose your license if you don’t stop that!).*
*Don’t procrastinate assignments and articles till the very last minute🙄🙄😏😏*
*Love yourself unconditionally.* You’ve accomplished so much in your life and helped others accomplish milestones. Remember that and remember that this current version of yourself loves you… and nothing is going to change that.
*Focus on the positive things*. Although you’ve made so much progress in the last year, sometimes you figure its not enough. It is! More wins are on the way, but in their own time! (You hear??)
*Cut yourself some slack.* You work hard at everything. You are dedicated and determined. But just like everyone else, you’re not perfect. You slip up lots of times, but that’s fine. Pick yourself up. It can only get better.
*Keep doing what you’re doing*, keep it up, don’t give up. Soon, you will get all you desire and need.
*Be more thankful to God* for great and little mercies.
*Do more kind and useful deeds, present more smiles to folks*
*Quickly and speedily fight your detractors to an end*
*Forgive quickly*
*Be a good role model for kids.*
Lest I forget, *learn to keep your mouth shut*, no matter how badly provoked!
Last year was a great year and as God lives, this one will be even better.
One last thing, *listen to your own advice as “pontificated” above.*
