‘Ankara Rave’ Closing Party Brings Down Curtain on 2018 Lagos NBA Law Week
Also held in the cavernous auditorium of the City Hall venue of the Law Week sessions, the Closing Party, also known as the ‘Ankara Rave,’ attracted scores of young wigs and their senior counterparts – all dressed in the popular Nigerian fabric locally known as ankara. They were treated all night to a rich and diverse menu of food, drinks and an eclectic mix of contemporary and ‘old school’ music from various periods and genres.
Two of the high points of the evening were very energetic dance contests between male and female lawyers, as each dancer was egged on by their vocal supporters. The respective male and female winners were given mouth-watering prizes, including luxury, all-expenses-paid trips to locations of their choice to any location in Nigeria.
It was indeed a fitting way to end an eventful week of activities, intellectual stimulation, and stock-taking by the Lagos branch of the NBA – which, many agreed, had indeed lived up to its well-earned reputation as Nigeria’s Premier Bar.
