There are strong indications that only a few stalls are now available for potential exhibitors at the AGC Conference Market Place (CMP), otherwise called “Mammy Market.”
Meanwhile, work has reached advanced stage in the construction of the market stalls and ancillary facilities, even as bars and event centres in the CMP are giving their facilities a face-lift in readiness for the lawyers’ fiesta.
An LOC member hinted that allocation of stalls may commence today. “This is to give the exhibitors enough time to set up their stalls,” he said.
As at yesterday, the mega stage that will host a live-in DJ and several cultural and trending dance groups, including the sensational 911 Dance Machine of the Lagos hip-hop fame, has been set up. The stage will witness daily musical and sundry performances starting from Monday, August 21, 2017.
The Mammy Market has been described as providing the best ambience in the history of NBA annual conferences.
It dove-tails directly into the beach, such that conferees can shop for their books, pick up a bowl of hot rice spiced with salad and garnished with chicken, and cross over to tables overlooking the beach to enjoy their meals over chilled bottles of drinks and champagne while networking with long lost and new friends.
The LOC member also noted that the committee “will ensure that security operatives vigorously enforce the laws relating to no-trading zone” within the conference area, to maintain order and sanity within the area.
This comes on the heels of rumoured intrigues by some speculators to sabotage the market by setting up parallel facilities.
Interested exhibitors are to contact the following LOC members for enquiries: Chris Okoye (0803.305.3438); Adesina Ogunlana (0803.485.4066); Charity Sagade (0802.361.2715) or Uche Nwadialo (0809.803.0060).
The Mammy Market is located at the serene Oniru Private Beach, Victoria Island with its picturesque sea-view ambience.
The Conference Market Place is one venue where conferees are expected to make quick purchases to enrich their libraries and wardrobes among others, enjoy fine dining and generally unwind while networking with friends and colleagues.
