Dabiri Erewa Persuades Youths to Join Politics and Make a Change

Abike Dabiri Erewa persuades youths to take part in politics so as to take account of Nigeria’s administration. According to her, this is a solution to #ENDSARS.

Abike Erewa is a Chairman to a body known as “Nigerians in Diaspora Commission”. She proposed this during the 14th ǼLEX Annual Lecture (Virtual Edition) tagged ‘Illiteracy, Migration and Insecurity: Nigeria’s Population Time Bomb’.

During the annual lecture she affirmed that this is the time for the youths to act and become agile and active, Abike advised the youths to participate in political activities, she urged the youths to be part of the House of Assembly, the House of Representatives.

However she believes by doing this, the youths will certainly be able to put a stop to police brutality in the country. She also added that a lot of Nigerians leave the country out of ignorance, still and all she believes their dreams can still be achieved in the country.

She said, “Most young people going out there are not illiterate; they are actually educated but they are lured that there is a better world outside, they paint them a picture of buying houses for their mothers, fathers, which turns out to be fake. It is not about illiteracy but it is about more awareness out there. But there are some people that no matter what you tell them, they have to go.”

She spoke about the over population in Lagos state, she advised that is better to stay in ones own state and develop. Erewa asserted that in American and Britain each of their states are developed and we can act that in Nigeria. She urges the youths to stay in their respective states and develop them.
