Dr. Babatunde Ajibade, SAN, is a consummate lawyer and a discerning gentleman that has demonstrated a strong passion for the reform of the legal profession in Nigeria. His career has been characterized by a selfless service to the NBA and to the legal profession. Dr Ajibade’s compassion and integrity stand him out from the other contestants for the office of President of the Nigerian Bar Association.
Dr. Ajibade’s candour and integrity have endeared him to most lawyers in Nigeria and it is not surprising that many see him as the bridge between the old and the young in the legal profession. I was particularly impressed with his disposition when he attended the joint Law Week of the Maiduguri and Biu Branches of the NBA earlier in the year; incidentally, the only candidate for NBA Presidency that has visited Borno State. This show of solidarity has convinced me that Dr Ajibade is not going to pay lip service to his promise of presiding over a united and an all-inclusive Bar.
