Lenten Season: Sabastine Anyia Admonishes Commitment to God
Today is the first Friday of lent, a period of repentance and reconciliation.
Fasting is a form of self – denial. It’s a willful refusal to eat food and abstain from pleasurable things for the sake of a cause.
This abstinence is to show piety and commitment to God. It should be borne out of love for God and has to be accompanied with prayers.
I urge us to carry our cross this period of lent. May the Lord show us His gracious favour to the works of penance we have begun.
