Innovation & Tech Law Summit 2019: Akpata Sponsors 40 Young Wigs
As many as forty young lawyers, drawn from the various branches of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) in Lagos State will be attending the forthcoming Innovation & Technology Law Summit for free – courtesy of Mr. Olu Akpata, a Partner at the Law Firm – Templars and the immediate past chairman of the NBA Section on Business Law (NBA-SBL).
The Summit, which is slated for the 29th of November, 2019 at Commerce House, on 1, Idowu Taylor Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, is an initiative of the Innovation & Technology Lawyers Network.
This year, the Summit will explore the theme, ‘Ensuring an Enabling Environment for Digital Innovation.’
This latest gesture by Olu Akpata is in line with his unyielding commitment to the training and development of Young Lawyers which was a recurring feature of his tenure as NBA-SBL Chairman.
In a brief telephone chat with our Correspondent, Mr. Akpata reaffirmed this commitment and also commended the organisers of the Summit which he said is not only timely but also extremely vital as all Lawyers, young and old, need to quickly embrace and come to terms with the reality that is Technology and the legal framework that underpins its deployment because it has now very apparent that Technology is here to stay and to disrupt every aspect of our lives whether at work or at play.
