EFCC Arrests Two Men for Currency Counterfeiting in Abuja
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested two suspected currency counterfeiters in Abuja.
The EFCC, in a statement issued by its Spokesman Wilson Uwujaren, listed the suspects as Odoh Lazarus Offor and Nnamani Emmanuel.
Offor and Emmanuel were arrested in Wuse Zone 4 after a bureau de change operator reported their illegal activities to the anti-graft agency.
According to the statement, the Commission also recovered fake $20,000 currency from the two men.
“The suspects, who claimed not to be aware that the currencies were fake, are currently in EFCC custody and will be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded,” the statement added.
