I’m Disappointed in National Assembly over Budget Delay – Buhari
President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday said he felt disappointed in the National Assembly over the lawmakers’ penchant for passing the budget late .He said he had already spoken with the leaders of the National Assembly to register his concerns.

According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, the President spoke while receiving a delegation of Eminent and Respected Citizens of Niger State, led by Lt. Gen. Garba Duba (retd.) at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Buhari said the delay in the passage of budgets, sometimes lasting seven months, ended up stalling timely completion of projects across the country.
He said more efforts must be put in place to speed up the process.
He said, “If the National Assembly takes seven months to pass a budget, then we should be commended for the much that we have achieved, and can still achieve.”
In his remarks, Duba commended the President for providing exemplary leadership in the country.
