High Court of Lagos State to Proceed on 2018 Annual Vacation

The High court of Lagos State will proceed on their annual long vacation on Monday the 16th Day of July 2018. This was made known through a notice signed by Hon. Justice Opeyemi Oke and published in the state’s high court premises.

Vacation Judges have been appointed to handle certain urgent cases during the vacation period in Lagos and Ikeja Judicial Divisions.

IN THE HIGH COURT OF LAGOS STATE

LONG VACATION 2018

It is hereby stated for General Information that the Chief Judge of Lagos State, Honourable Justice Opeyemi O. Oke, has Pursuant to Order 45 Rule 4(D) of The High Court of Lagos State (Civil Procedure) Rules 2012 approved that Monday the 16th Day of July 2018 to Tuesday the 11th Day or September 2018 both dates inclusive will be the dates fixed for the Long Vacation.

VACATION JUDGES

IKEJA DIVISION

  1. HON. JUSTICE O. A. WILLIAMS from Monday the 16th Day of July, 2018 to Friday the 27th Day of July, 2018.
  2. HON. JUSTICE B. A. OKE-LAWAL from Monday the 30th Day of July, 2018 to Friday the 10th Day of August, 2018.
  3. HON. JUSTICE O. OGALA from Monday the 13th Day of August, 2018 to Friday the 24th Day of August, 2018.
  4. HON. JUSTICE E. O. OGUNDARE from Monday the 27th Day of August, 2018 to Tuesday the 11th Day of September, 2018.

LAGOS DIVISION

  1. HON. JUSTICE O. O. FEMI-ADENIYI from Monday the 16th Day of July, 2018 to Friday the 27th Day of July, 2018.
  2. HON. JUSTICE A. I. COKER from Monday the 30th Day of July, 2018 to Friday the 10th Day of August, 2018.
  3. HON. JUSTICE M. I. ALAKIJA from Monday the 13th Day of August, 2018 to Friday the 24th Day of August, 2018.
  4. HON. JUSTICE O. A. ADAMSON from Monday the 27th Day of August, 2018 to Tuesday the 11th Day of September, 2018.

Notwithstanding the long vacation, the Criminal Division of The High Court of Lagos State may sit throughout the period of the Vacation where a Judge of the Criminal Division is on Vacation, a Vacation Judge may be assigned to Deal with all urgent Pending Criminal Cases in the Court.

Notwithstanding the long vacation, any Cause or Matter may be Heard by a Judge during the period of the Vacation (Except on Sunday or Public Holiday) where such Cause or Matter is urgent or a Judge, at the request of all the Parties Concerned agree to Hear it.

Any application for an urgent hearing during the vacation may be made by summons in chambers, before the Vacation Judge or the Judge before whom the Substantive Case is pending.

Please note that the long vacation ends on Tuesday the 11th Day of September, 2018.

The 2018/2019 Session commences on Wednesday the 12th Day of September, 2018.

Notice is further given that the new legal year services will hold on Monday the 24th Day of September, 2018.
