NBA Lagos Branch Begins Preparations for its 2018 Annual Law Week

Activities marking the 2018 edition of the NBA Lagos Branch Annual Law Week are scheduled to kick-off from the 5^th to 11^th of May, 2018. This date was disclosed by the branch Chairman, Chukwuka Ikwuazom, Esq. Mr. Ikwuazom made this disclosure in March during inauguration of the planning committee for the Law Week.

In his remarks at the inauguration, the chairman of the Law Week Organising Committee, Tola Oshobi, SAN, who is a partner at the law firm of Babalakin & Co. said that over the years, the Branch has strived to ensure the maintenance of its leading status within the Nigerian legal landscape through the organization of fresh, innovative and unusual programmes, and this year’s edition would be no exception.

“The one week programme for this year’s Law Week is a full package,” he reiterated.

The theme for the Lagos Bar 2018 Annual Law week, “Human Capital and the Legal Profession in the 21^st Century”, will witness special activities to educate participants, stakeholders and members with inspirational topics. About forty speakers are expected to be in attendance.

The prestigious City Hall on Lagos Island is slated to host the opening ceremony, among other activities.

The Law Week programme has also been carefully designed to be a one-stop response to burning issues and challenges that continue to engage the minds of lawyers and the general public.

Approved registration fees for participation in the Law Week are as follows:

• 1 – 7 years                  –           N3,500
• 8 – 15 years –           N5,000
• 16 – 19 years –           N7,000
• 20 years and above –           N10,000
• SANs and Benchers –           N15,000

Branch members are advised to take advantage of early registration with a discount rate of 20%

Again, the dates for this year’s NBA Lagos Branch Law Week are the 5^th to 11^th of May, 2018, at the prestigious City Hall, Lagos Island. The NBA Lagos Branch is the foremost Bar branch in Nigeria, comprising over 6000 registered legal practitioners.
