2018 NBA Elections: Senior Advocates of the South Eastern Bar Adopt Obi Okafor SAN for NBA President
The Eastern Bar Forum which is perhaps the most cohesive forum, have always been united. Before an election actually starts and nominations are called for, people indicate interest. and this is what has been the case of the EBF for as long as we can remember.

Ahead of the July 2018 elections of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) to elect new national officers, the South East Senior Advocates of Nigeria, on Saturday February 3, 2018 in Enugu reached an agreement on their standpoint for the upcoming election.
“The learned Seniors (SANs) of the Eastern Bar Forum (EBF) which encompasses all branches of the NBA in Eastern Nigeria, in their declaration adopted Chief Arthur Obi Okafor SAN as its candidate for the post of President of the NBA in the July 2018 elections”. This resolution was issued by the group and signed by Chief Anthony Mogboh, SAN reads.
“At the meeting held on the 3rd of April, 2018, at the residence of Chief Abthony Mogboh (SAN), the South East Senior Advocates of Nigeria, being bound by the resolution of the EBF, hereby resolve and adopt Chief Arthur Obi Okafor, SAN as their candidate for the post of President of the NBA in the next election being the only candidate that showed interest.”
According to Chief OCJ Okocha (SAN) in his earlier interview with Newswire Law and Events Magazine, he said, “Out of all the people that expressed interest in running, only one person (Arthur Obi Okafor) picked up the commitment form from the EBF for the presidential position. So many others also picked the form for different positions; people from Anambra, Imo, Akwa-Ibom and the rest.”

“In that case, the EBF Governing Council does not have any other choice than to adopt the interested candidate.”
“The Eastern Bar are free to decide whatever they want to do with the adoption of candidates and how they want to manage the 2018 NBA elections.”
