Blackmail, Intimidation, Arrest won’t Shut my Mouth – Melaye
An embattled senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Dino Melaye, yesterday, said that no amount of intimidation or blackmail would stop him from speaking for the voiceless in the country.

Melaye stated this in a statement he issued in Abuja, reacting to what he described as orchestrated false social media reports against his person recently.
He said that he decided to react to some of the reports so that his supporters and constituents would not think that the false allegations published against him were true.
The politician said that the negative news reports were designed to cause serious disharmony in the Senate and among united majority Senators, who according to him, “are resolute in defending democracy and its institutions no matter whose ox is gored”.
The statement reads: “I ordinarily want to ignore the antics of the Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello and the Nigeria Police, which has openly taken side in the Kogi political crisis.”
Right from his days as a student union leader at the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, to his stay in the House of Representatives, Senator Dino Melaye has always been in the eye of the storm. He had also at some points in the course of his political career treaded paths, which most of his colleagues avoid like leprosy and in the process dared the powers that be, and in most cases came out unscathed. For the Kogi West senator, it is a catalogue of political battles since he was elected to the National Assembly.
