PDP AND APC: Let the Battle Begin
Last Saturday, the PDP had its long awaited Convention, where a national exco has now emerged. Personally, I don’t have any interest in any of the political parties, save the National Conscience Party, NCP, founded and funded by Chief Gani Fawehinmi, SAN.
But beyond PDP convention and APC government, I’m excited now! Ask me why? I read the different press statements of APC spokesperson, Malam Bolaji Abdullahi and the new PDP Publicity Secretary, Mr Kola Ologbodiyan, and I was jumping and leaping in my spirit. Real politicking is back now!
Let the Femi Adeshinas and the Garba Shehus of this world allow politicians do their thing. They are govt officials.
Now, government critics and genuine human rights activists can breathe. Let the opposition keep up the fireworks, constructively though, and let the ruling party defend itself, objectively.
And we don’t want to hear that in the next few weeks, some corruption allegations have been unearthed against Ologbodiyan and he is to face trial! The opposition has been dead after the Metuh experience.
So let APC tell us what the party is doing with power, and let PDP tell us what the APC has not done and what it should be doing.
So, I take a break, and as Paul said in the Holy Scriptures, from now on, let no power trouble me o, because I bear in my body already, the marks of our democratic and revolutionary struggles.
Enough of govt propaganda! Let’s hear the other side!
