2020 NBA Election: Tawo Tawo SAN, To Chair NBA Electoral Committee
The Nigerian Bar Association has constituted Committee for the 2020 general election.
The Electoral Committee was constituted on Thursday at the NEC meeting of the NBA, held at NBA National House, Abuja.
The Members of the Electoral Committee of the (ECNBA) 2020 National Elections were sworn in by NBA President Paul Usoro, SAN, immediately after the committee was constituted.
Members of the Committee are:
Taiwo Eja Taiwo, SAN – Chairman
Mrs. Cordeilla Eke – Secretary
Prof. Augustine Agom – Member
Alozie Echeonwu – Member
Abdullahi Haruna – Member
The chairman, Mr. Tawo E. Tawo, SAN is a 1986 graduate of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), and was called to Nigerian bar in 1987.
His legal career commenced in the law firm of H.S. Usman & Co., Kaduna, durign his National Youth Service (NYSC) in 1987. Upon completion of the National Service, he was retained by the Law Firm where he underwent pupilage as Counsel from 1988 to 1990.
Mr. Tawo set up his law firm in his own name: Tawo E. Tawo & Co. (now Tawo E. Tawo, SAN & Co.) in 1991 and since then has been in active legal practice.
He has been engaged in Receivership and Liquidation of some companies and participated in the Liquidation of Nigeria Paper Mills Limited, Jeba, Kwara State, as a member of the Committee of Inspection. Apart from core litigation and advocacy, Mr. Tawo has a flair for Minerals and Mining Law, Admiralty and Marine Law, Oil and Gas and Arbitration.
