The Intellectual Property Institute (Nigeria) has presented the Innovations Awards to Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau, SAN in recognition of his contribution to the welfare of lawyers and innovation in legal practice and Intellectual Property Law in Nigeria.
The Institute also inducted Maikyau as a Fellow of the Institute in recognition of his contributions to the development of Intellectual Property and Entertainment Law in Nigeria.
The award which was presented by Dr. Oluwatobiloba Moody, the Country Head of the World Intellectual Property Organization, Nigeria, was received on Maikyau’s behalf by Ms. Naomi Bankyu, who added youthful vigor and color to the event. The Learned Silk was also inducted as a Fellow of the Intellectual Property Institute Nigeria for his contribution to the development of Intellectual Property and Entertainment Law in Nigeria.
Other awardees at the ceremony included the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Honourable Justice John Terhemba Tsoho; Nureini Jimoh SAN; Ezenwa Anumnu, among others.
