I join all Nigerians across our beloved nation to celebrate yet another Workers Day. It is a day workers are rightly honored with a work- free day.
It is a day to celebrate all long-suffering and hardworking people who sweat and toil, to ensure that various aspects of our daily lives are maintained.
These workers labor under very harsh conditions but are often not appreciated and well remunerated . Some are hardly able to make ends meet amidst unfavorable economic climate.
I celebrate you because you have remained unbowed despite unimaginable social, political and economic conditions.
You have continued to ensure that our nation marches on in the hope that tomorrow will be better. You are our heroes ; our pride; our patriots.
I celebrate you even as we work towards achieving a Nigeria of our dreams where workers will receive a just recompense for their toils. I pray for a country where workers will be able to live in dignity and not struggle to survive despite being the engine room of our country.
We shall surely overcome.
