Controversial activist, Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has fired back at social media celebrity Bobrisky after receiving a N1 billion defamation lawsuit threat.

Earlier on Sunday, Bobrisky’s legal team issued a legal notice accusing VeryDarkMan of releasing an AI-generated audio aimed at tarnishing her reputation.

The letter demanded a public retraction and apology within 24 hours.

In response, VeryDarkMan took to Instagram, claiming that the audio in question was a WhatsApp conversation he obtained from someone Bobrisky allegedly contacted.

He questioned Bobrisky’s sudden change of demeanor, pointing out that the celebrity had previously expressed suicidal thoughts.

VeryDarkMan further threatened to countersue Bobrisky for N1,000,000,020, humorously adding N20 as a personal gain.

The activist also warned that the ongoing legal battle would compromise the integrity of many involved.

“Bobrisky, didn’t you say you wanted to ‘end it all’? Now, suddenly, you’ve found the strength to sue me. In this case, many will exchange their credibility for my publicity, as always. I will make them regret this,” VeryDarkMan said in his post.

He also raised questions about a past incident involving a N3 million payment Bobrisky allegedly failed to make after attempting to collect the sum from rapper Falz.

The activist expressed confidence, saying, “I can stand for myself anywhere. Bobrisky sued me for N1 billion, but I’ll make a mockery of it with N1,000,000,020 and a N20 gain.”

The feud between the two escalated last Tuesday after VeryDarkMan shared an audio recording, purportedly of Bobrisky, in which the crossdresser allegedly claimed to have bribed officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission with N15 million to drop charges against her.

The recording also suggested that Bobrisky’s “godfather,” alongside Haliru Nababa, the Controller General of the Nigerian Correctional Service, arranged for her to serve a six-month prison sentence in a private apartment rather than a correctional facility. Bobrisky, whose real name is Idris Okuneye, was reportedly released from prison on August 5 after being convicted for abusing the naira in April.

Reacting to the claims, Bobrisky dismissed the audio as fake, insisting that she never paid any bribe to the EFCC.

Her denial came after the EFCC summoned both Bobrisky and VeryDarkMan over the bribery allegations involving its officials. The anti-graft agency’s chairman, Ola Olukoyede, also ordered an immediate investigation into the claims.

Bobrisky had earlier revealed that she was battling suicidal thoughts before the lawsuit drama unfolded
