President Bola Tinubu has appointed seven new aides to support the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi SAN, at the Federal Ministry of Justice
The appointments include Rotimi Oyedepo SAN, a top prosecutor with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), who was named Special Assistant on Financial Crimes and Public Prosecution Compliance
Other appointees are Kamarudeen Ogundele as Special Assistant on Communication and Publicity, Hussein Oloyede as Special Assistant on Arbitration, Drafting and Regulations, and Monsurat Gafar as Special Assistant on Coordination and Intergovernmental Agency Relations
Also appointed are Marcus-Obiene Fernández as Special Assistant on Justice Sector Reforms and ICT, Ahmed Wada as Special Assistant on Special Duties, and Tolu Obamuroh as Technical Adviser on Oil and Gas, Arbitration and International Disputes.
The appointments demonstrate President Tinubu’s commitment to strengthen the justice sector and boost the anti-corruption drive of his administration.
Mr. Oyedepo, a crack prosecutor with vast experience securing high profile convictions for EFCC, will support the government’s war against corruption. The other appointees also bring relevant expertise
According to AGF Fagbemi, the Ministry of Justice under his watch will focus on tackling inter-agency rivalry and improving prosecution of corruption cases. The new presidential aides will assist in achieving these objectives.
