As you are aware the focus of the CLE & Mentorship Committee of the Branch for this month of February is on Taxation.
To this end we are collaborating with PWC to provide tax training for members of our branch. The training which is being provided at the subsidized rate of N17,000 (Seventeen Thousand Naira) per delegate is scheduled for the 21st of February, 2018. Topic: Introduction to Companies Income Taxation for Lawyers
Taxation is one of the most challenging areas of financial reporting for lawyers. It seems complicated for many lawyers because it stands mid-way between law and accounting; therefore requires an understanding of both. This session is a practical workshop that will combine practical exercises and examples to drive home key concepts in companies income taxation that will aid lawyers in developing a basic understanding of the fundamental principles of company’s income taxation.

As it’s a tradition of the Branch, they will be sponsoring 10 young lawyers to the tax training scheduled for the 21st of February, 2018. A ballot was carried out in this regard at the February monthly meeting.
