No fewer than 41 people were reportedly killed in a Monday night attack at Fungzai and Kubwat villages in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Photos posted by Plateau Facebook users show bodies of men, women and children around the villages.
Meanwhile, Plateau Peace Building Director General, Joseph Lengmang, in a post on his verified Facebook page, said he has never seen this scale of carnage and bloodbath.

“The tragic destruction of homes and killing of innocent people from one village to another is quite troubling,” he said.
“This is totally condemnable and unacceptable. And even more troubling is the fact that the killings and wanton destruction have continued unabated,”
