At the National Conference on Livestock Reforms and Mitigating Associated Conflicts organised by the Kano state Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje. Ganduje said RUGA remained the only option for peace between farmers and herders.
Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III has charged state governors stop refusing to give up land for grazing reserves to prevent the farmers – herders clash . He declared that lands belong to God and not to the governors. But I dare say that Land is God’s gift to the indigenous peoples of Nigeria held in trust by their governors .

The Sultan rightly pointed out that the Fulani youths in the bushes and forest are hungry and angry but failed to state that it was because of the feudal system and bad leadership which impoverish them and poor parental guidance that caused it These disenchanted young men were deliberately deprived of education and good life by the feudal system in the North which Sultan incidentally heads.
These hungry and angry youths have taken to banditry and terrorism and are heavily armed with the tacit support of the Federal government and the Feudal Lords of the North , killing , maiming , raping, sodomising , brutalising , dehumanising , extorting other Nigerians without any consequences .

The lasting solution to the Fulani herds men menace is for the poor Fulani man to be taught to know about development in his life and must be taught to careless about cattles. He must be taught that he can be a lawyer , doctor , professor , astronaut , pilot like the sons and daughters of the sultan and other feudal lords of the North.

The Sultan touched on the Benue Valley but must know that the valley belongs belongs to the indigenous peoples of Tiv, Idoma and Igede. and it is being held in trust for them by their State governor who cannot ceded to the federal government of Nigeria in the guise of using it for Livestock Reforms only to hand the land to Fulanis for Ruga .

The establishment of Ruga Settlement in Kano situated on 4, 413 hectares of land at Dansoshiya Forest in Kiru local government is illegal unlawful and unconstitutional . The Kano state government can not take the land belonging to the indigenous peoples of Kano State and hand it over to Fulanis Nothing stops the Fulani man from buying land like other Nigerians to do their business Why must the Governor of Kano State take land that he is holding in trust for his people and give to private individual to do their business while depriving other citizens of land .It is my humble submission that livestock business is a private business and it is wrong for government to aid private individuals business .

The most annoying thing is that Sultan , politicians , elites and religious leaders have failed to prevent the conflicts between the headers and their host community which has led to religious and ethnic conflicts culminating in Ethnic cleansing of the indigenous people by the Fulanis all over the North

True ranching, would mitigate existential problems, as pastoralists would have lands to graze without cattle encroaching on people’s farmlands. The land for ranching must be bought by the Fulanis not given to them for free as settlement for life like in the case of Kaduna where under the guise of one phony agricultural program the land belonging to the indigenous peoples of Kaduna was given to the Fulanis in the 70s and 80s and these land have been taken over by Fulanis as their inheritance to this day .
