Police Uncover Building with 105 Bags of Cannabis
The Ondo State Police Command on Friday arrested one person in connection with 105 bags of cannabis kept in a house located at the New Town Area of Akure, the Ondo State capital.
The suspect, identified as Virginia George, was said to be in charge of the cannabis, worth millions of naira.
The Police PRO, Mr. Femi Joseph, told newsmen that the police were able to discover the building following a tip-off.
He said the cannabis had been evacuated from the building while the suspect had been handed over to the Ondo State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency for further action.
Joseph said, “The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Gbenga Adeyanju, got the information about the building; so, he ordered our men to swing into action. That was how we were able to arrest the suspect. The illegal drugs were packed in 105 bags.
“We have commenced an investigation into the matter and handed over the suspect and the drugs to the NDLEA here.”
